Radio Controlled Helicopter Photography System
Our Radio Controlled Helicopter Photography System is a state of the art aerial photography system that enables us to capture low-altitude photos from a perspective that nothing else can offer.  Unlike aerial photographs from full size aircraft, we can maneuver our helicopter in closer quarters to the location we are photographing, getting just the right angle, with an incredible amount of up-close detail.

The system consists of a specially designed Radio Controlled Helicopter with a rotor-span of approximately 4 ½ feet.  Mounted underneath the helicopter is a camera mount that isolates vibration, and allows for 360 degree movement of our camera.  The mount also incorporates electronic equipment allowing for camera actuation/movement and transmission of the images to our ground station.

The Camera
We use a Sony 7.2 Mega Pixel digital camera.  This camera is very popular in aerial photography, and allows incredibly detailed pictures to be delivered to you on CD as well as in print form.  Our photographs can be blown up to approximately 20X30 without any loss in image quality – and even larger with digital manipulation.

Full Size Aircraft
When a high-altitude image is what you require, we will orbit over your site between 500 and 1000’ above the ground in a Cessna 172 or similar aircraft.  The Cessna 172 is a single engine propeller driven airplane that is ideal for aerial photography due to it’s high wing and low speed capability.  Several passes will likely be required to get the quality and quantity of images required for the session. Optionally, we can utilize a full-scale helicopter when a fixed-wing aircraft or model aircraft platform are not suited to the particular situation.
